WPPAC MainStage Productions are the professionally “self-produced” productions of WPPAC featuring union and non-union actors from Broadway, national tours and regional theatre across the country. These productions are created from scratch, staffed with professional production teams (directors to designers), large LIVE orchestras and boast high-quality sets and costumes. Recent MainStage productions have included: Sister Act, Heathers: The Musical (NY Regional Premiere), I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change, Disney’s Tarzan, Closer Than Ever, Sweeney Todd, Disney’s The Little Mermaid (NY Regional Premiere), Les Miserables (NY Regional Premiere), The Fox on the Fairway, August: Osage County (NY Regional Premiere), The 39 Steps, Hair, TOMMY, The Importance of Being Earnest, The Color Purple (NY Regional Premiere), Lend Me A Tenor and Cats.

The WPPAC Conservatory Theatre is the region’s premiere theatre training organization. Our program changes and grows with each set of students. We engage youth in theatre training that empowers them to unleash their imaginations and access their own artistic expression and aesthetic development. We are both artistic and educational, holding ourselves and our students to high professional standards while providing them with the tools necessary to meet those standards. Past Conservatory productions include: Gypsy, Little Shop of Horrors, Legally Blonde, Carrie, Rent, Avenue Q, Godspell, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, The Laramie Project and The Laramie Project: 10 Years Later, The Rocky Horror Show, A Chorus Line, The Wedding Singer, Aida and All Shook Up

STAGE 2 bridges the gap between the WPPAC Conservatory and the MainStage giving college, graduate school and community performers the opportunity to work in a regional theatre setting under the guidance of professional artists. Recent Stage 2 productions include: Parade, Chess and In The Heights.

In addition to critically-acclaimed, self-produced theatre and a strong educational initiative, WPPAC also seeks out and engages a variety of talented performers, bands, comedians, children’s theatre, dancers and self-contained acts that have also appeared elsewhere around the county. Presented “special” events have included: Linda Eder, Louis-And-Ella!, The Maccabeats, Shadows of the 60’s, Bubble Trouble, Robert Klein, Gilbert Gottfried, Big Pants & Hot Flashes (starring Julia Scotti & Kevin Meaney), A Musical Cooking Lesson with the Calamari Sisters, The Amazing Max, Jim Brickman, Mooseltoe, Well-Strung, My Life On a Diet (starring Renee Taylor), The Greatest Pirate Story (N)Ever Told!, Back to the Garden 1969, Blackout – NYC A Capella, The Women of Jazz and tons of other world-class entertainment.
