Upcoming Classes

After school Acting Classes for Grades K-2 and 3-5. We have formed a partnership with the White Plains Recreation and Parks department to bring after school acting classes to White Plains residents.

FALL/WINTER 2019-2020

Creative Drama: Acting Through Stories!

The Actor’s Toolbox

A creative, fun introduction to theatre using familiar stories as source material. Students go beyond the story and create new adventures using drama to tie together acting and early literacy skills. Different stories will be used in each session so repeat students will get a different experience.

Age Group: K – 2nd Graders

Day/Time: Thursdays  4 pm – 4:50 pm

Fall Session: Begins October 3 (6 sessions – Oct. 3, 10, 24, Nov. 7, 14, 21 – no class Oct. 17, 31)

Winter Session: Begins January 23 (6 sessions – Jan. 23, 30, Feb. 6, 13, 27, Mar. 5 – no class Feb. 20, snow make-up date Mar. 12)

Location: White Plains Performing Arts Center

Fee: $90*

The perfect class for budding actors. Students learn the basics of acting and character work through games, improvisation, and scenes. These beginning skills are ones that all actors use as they continue their growth as artists.

Age Group: 3rd – 5th Graders

Day/Time: Thursdays  5 pm – 5:50 pm

Once purchased, there are no refunds given for these programs. Workshops are subject to minimum registration.

paul-loman-headshotPAUL LOMAN – Paul is an experienced music director, teacher, pianist, and composer. He studied music at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA. He has accompanied and music directed youth, collegiate, and professional productions in Virginia, New Hampshire, and New York at Papermill Theatre, Performing Arts Luray, James Madison University, and the White Plains Performing Arts Center, among others. He has also composed new music for several musicals. Paul is currently the Music and Choir Director for St. Ann’s Church in Yonkers, and teaches music at St. Ann’s School.

ARIANA MOSES – Private acting lessons and audition coaching with Ariana Moses, WPPAC’s Director of Education. Ariana is an accomplished teaching artist and director who has been involved in the field of Theatre for Youth for the past ten years.

She earned an MFA in Theatre for Youth from UNC-Greensboro, an MA in Teaching from Chatham University, and a BA from Sarah Lawrence College with concentrations in the Performing Arts and in issues of Social Justice. A certified teacher, Ariana taught in Pittsburgh, PA and McLean, VA before pursuing her MFA.
