Sinatra: The 1962 World Tour

In 1962 at the request of his friend, President John F. Kennedy, Frank Sinatra embarked on a World Tour that saw him give 32 concerts in 11 different countries in just 57 days. Originally conceived by Kennedy as a goodwill tour, Sinatra asked JFK if he could make it a Charity Event with all of the proceeds going to Children’s Causes and Sinatra picking up the tab for the band and expenses. The President agreed. In order to fulfill this grueling schedule, Sinatra utilized a handpicked 6-piece band consisting of the best musicians on the west coast playing arrangements of Sinatra’s big hits created specifically for this tour by renowned arranger Neal Hefti.

Recent inductee into the World Famous Friars Club, FRANKIE SANDS, is one of the top Frank Sinatra tribute artists in the country and will re-create “Mr. Sinatra’s 1962 World Tour” using a 6-piece band consisting of the same 6 instruments in the original band AND the original arrangements.

This is a rare opportunity to hear the some of Sinatra’s best work, performed with a small, intimate, jazz band, the voice on full display, expertly re-created by Frankie Sands.
