Summer Theatre Academy

Education at WPPAC

Professional training in a professional theatre

Where young performers become artists

Now in its 22nd year, our Summer Theatre Academy is the region's top professional theatre-training program for young actors. Each summer we offer a wide array of programs for students of all ages and experience levels.

Camps range from one to three weeks and give students the chance to shine in new Broadway hits and beloved classics. Students spend their days training with a team of theatre professionals, working toward a full production in our state-of-the-art theatre, lights, sound, costumes, the works.

Our downtown White Plains location, plus a Before & After-Care program, make STA the perfect fit for working parents. Questions? Email education@wppac.com or call (914) 328-1600.

Made for working families

Early drop-off for Before-Care begins at 8:30 am. Students must be pre-registered from at least the day before, and an adult must walk students in to the WPPAC lobby to check in.

Late pick-up for After-Care runs until 5:30 pm. Students can pre-register or drop in, and an adult must collect them from the lobby in person.

Cancellation policy

Registration can be submitted online or in person, but is provisional until all forms are returned, which is due two weeks from the day you register. Failure to submit the forms can result in the registration being automatically cancelled and refunded, less a $100 fee.

If a student withdraws from a session prior to May 1, 2026, WPPAC retains $150 of the registration payment as an administrative fee and refunds the remainder.

There are no refunds, for any person and any reason, after May 1, 2026.

Austin Morgan, Summer Theatre Academy Director
Austin Morgan · Academy Director

Meet the director

Austin Morgan is thrilled to lead the WPPAC Summer Theatre Academy. First bitten by the theatre bug in a lead role in Eric Bogosian's SubUrbia at FAU, he spent his post-college years performing in community theatre while directing.

Austin began his theatre-education career at his childhood summer camp on Long Island, Ivy League, directing musicals including Shrek, Willy Wonka and Beauty and the Beast. For the past five years he has been a full-time theatre educator and director at The Harvey School in Katonah, staging Peter Pan, Sherlock Holmes and more.

He has never not spent a summer at summer camp, and could not think of a better way to channel that energy than on the big stage.

"Thank you for enhancing our daughter's life in this special way. It truly does take a village."

Conservatory Parent

"Our daughter is so looking forward to working with you again. She says the Summer Theatre Academy was the best weeks of her life."

Conservatory Parent

"My son learned impressive amounts, and made friends too."
