Currently Seeking

The White Plains Performing Arts Center is looking for energetic, passionate individuals to serve as Apprentices to our creative team for the Summer Theatre Academy program.

Apprentices will engage in numerous aspects of STA camp, and duties may include: leading games and exercises for campers, supporting camp staff with behavior management, assisting with stage management, blocking, choreography, and music. Apprentices will lead workshops and classes for campers, and encourage campers to apply new skills in their work onstage. We are particularly interested in applicants with backgrounds in any of the following areas: stage management/tech, dance, and music. Apprentices will participate in training prior to the start of camp, and receive ongoing professional development opportunities from STA staff designed to help them build valuable theatre education skills.


  • Orientation: Saturday, June 26 10am – 4pm
  • Legally Blonde Jr. (3-week camp): Monday June 28th – Friday July 17th, Performances Fri. July 17th & Sat. July 18th *There will be no camp on Monday, July 5 due to Independence Day.
  • The Little Mermaid Jr. (3-week camp): Monday July 19 – Friday August 7th, Performances Fri. Aug. 7th & Sat. August 8th
  • Peter Pan (2-week camp): Monday August 9th – Friday August 21st, Performance Fri. Aug. 21st
  • Annie Kids (1-week camp): Monday August 23rd – Friday August 27th, Performance Fri. Aug. 27th


  • 9:00am – 4:30pm daily, Monday-Friday
    *Apprentices will split early/late care coverage week-to-week. Early care begins at 8:30am.


  • At least one year of college theatre/music/dance training or equivalent experience required
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old
  • Previous experience working with elementary and middle school aged students is preferred though not mandatory
  • Applicants must have access to local housing – no housing provided


  • 3-week camps: $375
  • 2-week camp: $250
  • 1-week camp: $125
